The employment cycle is the stages an employee progresses through, from recruitment till the employee decides to depart the work place. It is an employment cycle because the pattern repeats itself as employees decide to leave new employees are recruited, selected, inducted, gain new skills, career development, counselling/advice, exit interview then depart. The employment cycle is important in motivating employees at St Andrew's Catholic College. The employment cycle is used in St Andrew's Catholic College to determine if the employee needs are in line for the businesses future plans. The cycle has 3 phases: establishment, maintenance, and termination. Establishment consist of: planning, recruitment and selection, maintenance consists of: induction and training, skill inventory, monetary benefits, non-monetary benefits, and termination consist of: voluntary and involuntary. This cycle is important within St Andrew's as it encourages the employee to gain new skills, to develop their career and work their way up within the school. The cycle can motivate employees immensely at the school, as the employees success and happiness revolves around how well the leaders of St Andrew's help their employees within the employment cycle.
